The International Service Team (IST) would like to thank all Groups (Beaver Colonies, Cub Packs and Brownies) who took part in the design a badge for the Northern Ireland IST.
This badge is the official supporters badge to help fund five adult volunteers to attend the WSJ (same price as participants fee) who have been selected as International Service Team. We will be representing Northern Ireland to provide a lifelong experience for all participants from all over the world attending the 24th WSJ.
The badge was made from a composite of ideas from the design a badge for the Northern Ireland IST. This fundraising badge will go towards supporting our funding and each badge will cost £2.00. Individuals or Groups can place an order see our email below.
For further information on how to order please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Some information about the 2019 UK Contingent:
The UK Contingent will be made up of participants, their Unit Leaders and International Service Team.
We will be going to the Jamboree as part of the International Support team (IST) and these people are the Volunteer Jamboree staff. In 2019 a small team from Northern Ireland will be off to America, attending the 24th World Scout Jamboree. We are very lucky to have been selected after a tough application & selection process of over 1700+ applicants UK wide.
Between 22nd July and 2nd August 2019, over 30,000 young people and adult volunteers are expected to attend from 150 countries in the largest event being held in Scouting worldwide to date. The theme of the jamboree will be ”unlock a new world”, the theme speaks to the new adventures, cultures and friendships that will be shared by Scouts, Guides from around the world during the 12-day international event.
As you can imagine there is a lot of work involved in running a camp with tens of thousands of people attending. Everything from food to the activities, to support or events needs organising and running. Without the IST volunteers, the WSJ camp simply wouldn’t run.
If you are inspired by the potential of the World Scout Jamboree to enhance and develop the skills of the next generation, of leaders we invite you to contribute to our fundraising by making a donation.
Fundraising will allow us to support the young people and unit leaders on the trip as well as build on our own skills which we will be able to bring back to the UK and pass onto future generations of Guides and Scouts.
Any support will be greatly appreciated!
Your Northern Ireland IST Team
