As I’m sure many of you are aware extreme heat and bush fires have been rampaging over Australia and Tazmania for the past few months destroying at least 10.3 million hectares of land and 2000 homes, killing over 1 billion animals and 26 people, and pumping 400 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
In an effort to fundraise, Scouts Australia have issued a limited edition badge where 100% of the profits will be donated to bushfire recovery and rebuilding efforts, specifically for Scout Groups and Scouting families in the affected areas. As of 13 JAN 2019, 8400 badges have been sold raising $42,000AUD.
When we are so far away, the help we can provide is limited but the local Australian scouts appeal it makes it easier, the badges are now available for sale at a cost of $5AUD (£2.66) each but shipping to NI is approximately $40AUD (£22) no matter what quantity of badges are ordered.

Please note that on arrival in NI the badges will not be posted out but will be available to collect from Ardnavally / Crawfordsburn or from your CC. Badge orders will not be processed until the payment has been received.
It has been decided that the badge can be worn for 1 year over the left pocket of your uniform.
Closing date for orders will be the 30th January as we would like to get the order place as soon as possible to ensure we get the number we desire.
