County Down Scouts Team Up With Cash For Kids…

Date: 14th Mar 2016 Author: Scout Websites
County Commissioner Stephen Wilton announced the partnership at today’s County Conference.

Stephen commented
“This partnership allows us to raise much need funds for dis-advantaged children in Northern Ireland. Whilst also providing a platform to raise the profile of Scouting in County Down and highlight the great work our young people and adult volunteers are doing in their communities”
It is hoped that all sections in County Down will get involved in raising money for Cash for Kids over the course of the year. This can be by getting involved in organised events coordinated by Cash For Kids or by having their own fund raising event.
ABOUT CASH FOR KIDS
Cash for Kids is the official children’s charity of Downtown Radio and Cool FM. Their mission is to raise money for the thousands of local disadvantaged children who rely on charitable support. Every penny they raise in Northern Ireland stays here to provide a helping hand where it’s needed most. They focus on helping alleviating disadvantage faced by local children and young people, while improving their quality of life, encouraging personal development and aspirational fulfilment.
They are a grant-giving charity, providing help to disadvantaged children with nowhere else to turn. A lot of people don’t know that they also support other children’s charities throughout Northern Ireland providing services to help local kids. They work with some of the largest children’s charities in Northern Ireland including Cancer Fund for Children, Barnardos and the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice as well as 150 others.
