OSM Online Training

OSM is a great tool to manage the running of your section and have seen the great benefits it provides in terms of managing membership records, programme planning, badge records and so much more, saving leaders vast amounts of admin time whilst improving the experience for our Young People and adult volunteers.

If you have a good working knowledge and experience with OSM and would be interested in acting as a local champion and helping others within your District please contact the CC – downcc@scoutsni.org

Please see below for a step by step guide if you are yet to register. Please note the options you need to do will depend on whether your section currently uses OSM or not.I recommend using a desktop or a laptop whilst following these instructions.

Option 1 – My section is not currently registered for Online Scout Manager.

1. Go to https://www.onlinescoutmanager.co.uk and sign up free by clicking the button in the top right corner of this screen.
2. Enter your details as requested and follow the online instructions.
3. Once you have created an account and have logged in, whilst on the dashboard, click settings on the bottom left corner.
4. This will open a pop-up menu – Click on upgrades.
5. Once in the upgrades tab, click on discount codes, found on the left-hand side of the tab.
6. Click on the apply discount code button at the top right corner. This will open a pop-up window.
7. Enter the discount code ScoutingInDown
8. Your membership will now be upgraded to Gold Plus.
9. Please enter the values requested for, ideal section size, ideal number of leaders and current number of leaders.

Option 2 – My section is already using Online Scout Manager.

1. Log in using your OSM login username and password. Whilst on the dashboard, click settings on the bottom left corner.
2. This will open a pop-up menu – Click on upgrades.
3. Once in the upgrades tab, click on discount codes, found on the left-hand side of the tab.
4. Click on the apply discount code button at the top right corner. This will open a pop-up window.
5. Enter the discount code ScoutingInDown
6. Your membership will now be upgraded to Gold Plus. If you already have Gold Plus membership, your membership will automatically be renewed after your existing subscription expires.
7. Please enter the values requested for, ideal section size, ideal number of leaders and current number of leaders.
