South Down DC – Now open for Nominations

NEW DISTRICT COMMISSIONER – SOUTH DOWN
Dear Leader/Commissioner
Following on from my letter to you all during the summer. I am now actively seeking nominations from across South Down for the role of District Commissioner.  I know there are amazing people in the district and I want to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to nominate or apply if the feel they could undertake the role and make a difference to the lives of young people.
In line with the County Plan we are now moving into its next phase of development and we are looking for a motivated individual to lead Scouting within South Down.  The role of the DC is to ensure all Scout Groups are supported and developed to ensure young people get the best quality Scouting possible.
Full support will be provided to the new District Commissioner and their will be a period of hand over between Rodney and the new DC.  The length of time will be agreed between Rodney and the new DC prior to appointment.
Self nominations are actively encouraged and expected, let’s be honest, if you believe you can bring the right skills and expertise to the role and you are enthusiastic and motivated then why not nominate yourself?

Nominations should be received on or before Sunday 9th October 2016.
Please note that in order to ensure confidentiality, and prevent building up false hopes, nominations should be submitted without approaching the individual concerned.
